Dress Code

Having a dress code at school is just another part of my everyday retune. Although I do have a couple of likes and dislikes about the way we have to dress. One dislike would be the fact that I don't get to where my own clothes as much as I would like. It’s also a good thing too sometimes. I know off the back what I and everyone will be wearing that day. I just feel like I'm different from most people, I like to stand out.
By wearing khakis four out of five days a week, that only gives me one day to wear what I want to. You can also become student of the month like me and many others you can dress down for a whole week. I also had to go out and purchase some more clothes that fit the dress code because I didn't have enough. I got to do what I got to, to make it out of school so it doesn't faze me.
Having a school dress code can also be a good thing in some ways. If you're like me then you should know what you are going to be wearing four out of five days a week. When I get ready for school it saves me time by knowing what I'm going to be wearing. There’s no worry about who has what on there’s no competing and there’s no fashion show because everyone has the same colors on. We look boring. My 8th grade year I had to wear a uniform so I guess you could say I'm used to it.
I just feel like you can tell a lot about someone by the way they dress. I'm the type of person that likes to be different from everyone else. I like to stand out and be noticed. By having a dress code that keeps me and other people like me from being that different person that stands out. Having uniform kind of makes everyone equal. Almost like the U.S. where we are all equal supposedly.

If you ask me about the school dress code I will tell you I don't care for it. There are a couple of pros and cons to having a dress code. It saves me time in the morning when getting ready. It makes everyone equal in a type of way. I just don't like the fact that I can't wear my clothes as much as I want to. Like I said before though I got to get out of high school so, it’s just another thing I have to do to get out of here.

Beowulf compar

There are many differences and similarities between the movie and the text of Beowulf. One difference was the reason why Grendel came to Herot. And one similarity would be why they shut down Herot. One more difference is Beowulf’s men dying or living. Those are just some of the differences and similarity of the story Beowulf. My main opinion of this story is that it is totally different from the movie.
Why did Grendel come to Herot? In the text Grendel came to Herot because he was curious. He wanted to know what was going on in there when it became quiet. In contrast to the movie all the noise they were making while partying in Herot hurt his ears. Grendel came to Herot to quiet them. That’s where Grendel and Beowulf fought.
King Hrothgar closes down Herot. In the text King Hrothgar closed down Herot because Grendel killed his men while they slept. However In the movie Grendel killed them while they were awake. The main reason Hrothgar closed down Herot was because Grendel came and attacked his people. It was a little different because in the text he killed 30 men in their sleep, and in the movie he just came in while they were up and partying.
Beowulf’s men die. In the text Beowulf’s men don’t die and they go back to Sweden with Beowulf where he becomes king However in the movie his men were hung in Herot while Beowulf slept. I believe that it was Grendel’s mother that hung Beowulf’s men inside Herot. Beowulf swears that he will have her head, but instead he makes love to her.

There are also many other differences and similes in the story Beowulf. I think there are more differences than similes. Beowulf is a clear example of an epic hero. He has an epic flaw. There’s a tragedy in the story, and he fights monsters and dragons. Last but not least his name is still remembered and we still talk about him and tell his story today. I found two differences and one similarity. The differences were why Grendel came to Herot and Beowulf’s men dying. The similarity I found was in the text and the movie King Hrothgar shut down Herot.
