Why is History Important

History is important to everyone weather you know it or not. We came from history and make it. Without someone to record all the events that have happened in history we would still be living in the stone ages. History also shows all the change that has happened to the world from almost the beginning of time to this very day. Future generations will use the tools, techniques, and ideas we leave for them to make their future better.
To know history simply means to knows where we came from. History is like documents of time periods and accomplishments. By studying what we were doing wrong in the past we make a better future. It shows us what we were to what we are now. Life is history.
We came from no light bulbs, no cars, and phones. We change more and more every day. If we don’t pay attention to past experiences we may repeat history over and over again, till there is no one left to make or record history. The older we get the more history will be made. That means that history is time, life, and change. It’s almost like blueprints for what not to do in life general.
We use history every day to better our self’s. If we keep doing what we’ve been doing then we will keep getting what we’ve been getting. When we realize that need to change then we move forward in life. That makes history. Without mistakes we wouldn’t be able to better our future. It all starts with one idea, then someone changes or adds to it.
So again History is a very important factor in our everyday life. We must know our history so we can advance and make more history for future generations. It’s the reason for change and by changing we can make a better future. All we have to do is live and learn and history will keep growing

Learning Styles Inventory

The results of the survey were that I am a kin-esthetic learner. I do agree with the results because I know I am a hands on learner. Its better for me to learn something when it is made into a hands on activity. The survey was very easy to understand. The survey is important to people that don't know how they best learn. In C&E we played a game when we passed the ball around and if someone through it to You then you had to give the definition to one of the vocab words.

What Is a Leader
A leader is someone that has many good qualities. They must be someone that displays courage and respect for others. They must be physically and emotionally strong. They must also be able to make split second decision, for the greater good. A good leader is a person the people can believe in and trust. I will be comparing and contrasting Beowulf and Macbeth and the way they chose to display their leadership styles.
Beowulf is an example of a leader that demonstrates qualities that make people want to follow him. He displayed a courageous heart. Beowulf was ready and not afraid to risk his life for his people when he fought the sea monster and other threats to the kingdom. Macbeth was scared and panicked when the power went to his head. He is an example of a bad leader.
Macbeth let his power and leadership go to his head, therefore he gained hatred from his people. He used his power to make sure he was not overthrown. Beowulf proved his loyalty by killing Grendel and the dragon. In return he gained followers, trust, and respect. Being a good leader means you have to know what you’re capable of and protect and not destroy. Macbeth was scared to be overthrown so he started killing any and everybody that he thought was a threat. Macbeth is a good example of what happens when you abuse your power.
Beowulf was a very strong and respected man. Unlike Macbeth, Beowulf cared for his followers. This is why Macbeth and Beowulf are total opposite leaders. Beowulf was not afraid to lose his life for his people. Macbeth on the other hand would kill all his people to remain in control and not be overthrown. Beowulf was not only an example good leader he also was an epic hero. Macbeth was just a power crazed fool who only cared for himself.

Macbeth and Beowulf are examples of leaders with contrasting styles. Macbeth showed characteristics that are common in bad leaders such as Hitler. Beowulf showed characteristics of a good leader like trust, and respect kind of like Obama. To become a good leader you first must gain the peoples trust. You also have to be smart enough to not allow the power to go to your head.

Dress Code

Having a dress code at school is just another part of my everyday retune. Although I do have a couple of likes and dislikes about the way we have to dress. One dislike would be the fact that I don't get to where my own clothes as much as I would like. It’s also a good thing too sometimes. I know off the back what I and everyone will be wearing that day. I just feel like I'm different from most people, I like to stand out.
By wearing khakis four out of five days a week, that only gives me one day to wear what I want to. You can also become student of the month like me and many others you can dress down for a whole week. I also had to go out and purchase some more clothes that fit the dress code because I didn't have enough. I got to do what I got to, to make it out of school so it doesn't faze me.
Having a school dress code can also be a good thing in some ways. If you're like me then you should know what you are going to be wearing four out of five days a week. When I get ready for school it saves me time by knowing what I'm going to be wearing. There’s no worry about who has what on there’s no competing and there’s no fashion show because everyone has the same colors on. We look boring. My 8th grade year I had to wear a uniform so I guess you could say I'm used to it.
I just feel like you can tell a lot about someone by the way they dress. I'm the type of person that likes to be different from everyone else. I like to stand out and be noticed. By having a dress code that keeps me and other people like me from being that different person that stands out. Having uniform kind of makes everyone equal. Almost like the U.S. where we are all equal supposedly.

If you ask me about the school dress code I will tell you I don't care for it. There are a couple of pros and cons to having a dress code. It saves me time in the morning when getting ready. It makes everyone equal in a type of way. I just don't like the fact that I can't wear my clothes as much as I want to. Like I said before though I got to get out of high school so, it’s just another thing I have to do to get out of here.

Beowulf compar

There are many differences and similarities between the movie and the text of Beowulf. One difference was the reason why Grendel came to Herot. And one similarity would be why they shut down Herot. One more difference is Beowulf’s men dying or living. Those are just some of the differences and similarity of the story Beowulf. My main opinion of this story is that it is totally different from the movie.
Why did Grendel come to Herot? In the text Grendel came to Herot because he was curious. He wanted to know what was going on in there when it became quiet. In contrast to the movie all the noise they were making while partying in Herot hurt his ears. Grendel came to Herot to quiet them. That’s where Grendel and Beowulf fought.
King Hrothgar closes down Herot. In the text King Hrothgar closed down Herot because Grendel killed his men while they slept. However In the movie Grendel killed them while they were awake. The main reason Hrothgar closed down Herot was because Grendel came and attacked his people. It was a little different because in the text he killed 30 men in their sleep, and in the movie he just came in while they were up and partying.
Beowulf’s men die. In the text Beowulf’s men don’t die and they go back to Sweden with Beowulf where he becomes king However in the movie his men were hung in Herot while Beowulf slept. I believe that it was Grendel’s mother that hung Beowulf’s men inside Herot. Beowulf swears that he will have her head, but instead he makes love to her.

There are also many other differences and similes in the story Beowulf. I think there are more differences than similes. Beowulf is a clear example of an epic hero. He has an epic flaw. There’s a tragedy in the story, and he fights monsters and dragons. Last but not least his name is still remembered and we still talk about him and tell his story today. I found two differences and one similarity. The differences were why Grendel came to Herot and Beowulf’s men dying. The similarity I found was in the text and the movie King Hrothgar shut down Herot.

A Rasin in the Sun

There are a couple of themes and symbols in the play a Rasin in the sun. Lorraine Hansbery used symbols like the plant, and walter could be considered a symbol also. Thre were a couple themes but I chose the one keep moving forward.  No matter what happend they kept moving on.
To me the plant was a symbol of life. It is like the the plant didnt die out because the family was still holding on. The plant looked like it was struggling and so did the family. Later on they ended up moving into a bigger house and brought the plant with them. We can safety asume that they put the plant in a bigger pot or garden
Walter could be considered a symbol of manhood. A boy turning into a man. Walter had a bunch of over night schemes and plans to get rich fast. What he wasent doing was looking at the big picture, witch in his case was becoming a man and taking care of his family. At the end of the movie you can tell he turns into a man because of the choices he starts making.
Through everything life throw at them they kept moving forward, and I think that was one of the themes in this play. When Walter made a bad investment and lost all 6000 dollars they didnt dwell on that for long. Instead they moved on and moved in to the new house not knowing how they were going to pay the bills. I would say Walter is a man not because nof who he is but because of the choices he makes.
The play a Rasin in the Sun had a couple of symbols that stood for different things. Also there were a couple of themes. The plant wich represented life, Walter represened manhood, ect. No matter what they kept moving forward. Thats everything in a summary.
